Consulting in Neurosurgery and Computer Science
I am a Board Certified neurosurgeon from Stanford with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Based in Alaska, I am practicing neurosurgery part-time and providing medical and computer consulting services.
As Director of Healthcare Consulting at the BTO Group, I am supporting AgileMD.net, a telemedicine software solution and cloud based software and hardware platform. I am an advisor for HabitDx, a software company providing sophisticated diagnostic products for home use. I am the CTO and a principal in a start-up company which is developing a suite of cloud based educational products for medical practices, surgery centers, and small hospitals as well as a patient centered medical record program.
I provide medical expert consultations, involving quality of care issues, billing and coding compliance, and fraud and abuse, for hospitals, insurance carriers, utilization review organizations, governmental agencies, and attorneys. I assist defense and plaintiff attorneys with standard of care and medical malpractice issues.
My most recent clinical neurosurgery positions have included trauma neurosurgery assignments at Regional Medical Center in San Jose, California and Howard University in Washington, DC. I have also provided general neurosurgery coverage for the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska, and for St. Joseph's Hospital in Eureka, California.
